This is the Hike of the Week for
7/29/2005 as described on the NY-NJ Trail
Conference website. We took a day off from work to enjoy the last of the fall foliage, hitting the road at 7:15 AM and getting to the trail head at 8:15. We hiked up
this beautiful mountain on New Years Day, 2005, and on that day we followed a clockwise direction, climbing on the more-gradual Blue trail. Today we climbed straight
up via the Red trail, reaching the awesome viewpoint before 9:30 AM when the morning mist added a ethereal quality to the amazing views, and the fall foliage on Mount Minsi,
in direct sunlight across the Delaware was gorgeous.
Total distance traveled was 4 miles in approximately 3 hours. (Click on the thumbnail to bring up a bigger image in a pop-up window)
