It's been quite a year for me already. We traveled to the Holy Land in early January, then in late January I traveled to Florida for a conference. Hours after I got back home from Florida, my mom died unexpectedly. Needless to say, my life has been turned upside down and hiking has taken a back seat. But, despite all of this, we did find some time to get out into the woods this weekend, to get away from everything. Our hike was short, but it helped clear my mind for at least a couple of hours.

Using this map, we parked in the pull-off on Weldon Road marked "Snow Bowl" (enough room here for at least eight cars), crossed the street and headed north on a clear woods road (not on the map) to the purple trail shown on the map. The path we followed is difficult to explain because we used a couple of woods roads that aren't on the map. Suffice it to say, we did all of purple, much of white, and parts of blue which passed through the RV area, before heading back to the car.

The only view was over Jefferson Township High School, but the main goal was to be in nature today, away from life, which has become a bit chaotic.

Total distance hiked today was 3.8 miles in just over two hours and fifteen minutes.
