Lenape Ridge

Lenape Ridge, Southern Shawangunks (5/13/2007)

The opening of this brand new 5-mile loop near Port Jervis is the front page story of the May/June 2007 issue of Trail Walker, the periodical of the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference. Blazed by NYNJTC volunteers, this beautiful loop traverses the Lenape Ridge in the Southern Shawangunks offering wonderful views to the east (mostly from the white-blazed Lenape Ridge trail) as well as to the west (mostly from the red-blazed Minisink trail). The hike is described in the "Favorite Hike" column of the paper (page 12).
