This is the first of two areas we visited today in Central New Jersey. There isn't very good parking for this trail, which means that it's not hiked frequently,
something you will realize immediately. Don't attempt this hike in the summer if you are wearing shorts! It's very wild and difficult to follow, but the few
views of Stony Brook are nice.
Using this map, we parked on the side of Elm Ridge Road, just south of the gates for a very expension mansion, and hiked the entire loop. Total distance hiked was 1.3 miles in one hour.
