This is the second of two short hikes we did in Hunterdon County this morning. We weren't sure there would be much to hike here but managed to
do nearly 2.5 miles along open fields and through deep forest with no problem. The first area is an exclosure area, fenced in, with a huge
variety of plants, flowers and trees. Informative signs and displays abound. East of this area are the real trails, accessed through a gate.
Using this map, we parked in the large parking area at the Hunterdon County Park Commission headquarters, meandered first around the fenced-in area and then hiked another 2+ miles in the area east and north. Our route is a bit too complex to repeat here, but suffice it to say that we hiked nearly every trail except the 0.3-mile SE section of the Outer Loop trail between the Dogwood trail and the Two-Line trail. Total distance for this hike was 2.4 miles in a bit more than 90 minutes.
