We spent some time in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania this week, touring the battlefield, visiting museums and also hiking in the nearby mountains. This is the second
of two hikes in Maryland. This is Hike #15 ("High Knob-Catoctin Mountain Loop, Gambrill State Park") in the book
Hiking Maryland and Delaware. Once again it was
very hot today, in the 90s F, which broke the record for this area. The heat turned another moderate hike into a
somewhat strenuous affair, especially the last steady climb back to the parking area.
