This is Trip #5 ("Fountain Valley Trail") in the "Denver Area: Plains & Foothills" section of the book
Afoot & Afield: Denver, Boulder & Colorado's Front Range (First Edition).
This was the first of four hikes we did over two days in Colorado the week of September 7. Roxborough State Park is a pleasant 45 minute drive south of Denver (where we were staying). The park is filled with wonderful red rock formations which you just don't see anywhere in NJ or NY! However, something you see all over NJ and NY that you don't see in Colorado parks are trail blazes. This is because the trails are usually packed stone or even paved. At the very least, they are very easy to follow. I found this was also true of Oregon. (Click on the thumbnail to bring up a bigger image in a pop-up window)
