Clinton Reservoir & Buckabear Pond

Clinton Reservoir & Buckabear Pond, Pequannock Watershed (6/30/2007)

This 7.5-mile hike is my own design. After parking in area P9 (a hiking permit and decal needed from NWCDC), proceed north on Clinton West trail (white). At edge of Buckagear Pond veer left onto Bearfort Waters trail (yellow). This trail is not well-marked and has been reblazed with red ribbons in areas where it has been flooded by Buckabear Pond. At its intersection with the blue trail, make a right, and soon after another right onto the Clinton West trail (white) which also doubles as the Highlands trail. Take the white trail back to parking area P9. This wonderful hike takes about 4.5 hours.
